I've got to say I'm partial to Berkeley as well. It'll be nice to be at a park where we can play all of Amtgard and that is close to a recruitment source.

I've asked Kord to hold a discussion and vote at the park this weekend (5/16/13), as I've mentioned previously.

We're not going to pay attention to who's dues paid or anything like that for this one. I just ask that you consider yourself someone that regularly attends our park before you vote. We'll try and honor system this one.

The ballot has two items on it:

1. Should the Crown Lands of the Iron Mountains relocate to a new park?
-Yes
-No

2. If the Crown Lands does change to a new park, which park would you prefer?
-Rocky Mountain Lake Park (the first park we visited)
-Berkeley Park (the second park we visited)
-Find something else

Everyone should vote on both items, that way players that vote to not move the park will still have a say in the park that we end up at if we do move. If we vote to move to either of the park options above, we will switch to the new park on the first Saturday after Rakis. If we vote to find some other park, we'll stick with City Park while we solicit suggestions and investigate other parks. If we vote not to relocate, we'll put this issue to rest for a while and re-investigate again in the future.

If you aren't going to be at the park in person, please communicate your votes directly to Kord. You should also feel free to have a conversation about the pros and cons of everything here if you aren't going to be able to attend the discussion in person.

The results of the park Althing were as follows (including all absentee votes received):

Should the Crown Lands of the Iron Mountains move parks?

Yes - 12 votes
No - 0 votes
Abstain (requested as an option, despite not being on the ballot). - 3 votes

If the Crown Lands does change to a new park, which would you prefer?

Rocky Mountain Lake Park - 0 votes
Berkeley Park - 11 votes
Find something else - 3 votes
Abstain (requested as an option, despite not being on the ballot) - 1 vote

This includes my interpretation of some individuals whose votes were not explicitly provided in the format requested, but who I felt made it sufficiently clear what their preference would be. If we remove those individuals, the votes come out as follows:

Should the Crown Lands of the Iron Mountains move parks?

Yes - 8
No - 0 votes
Abstain (requested as an option, despite not being on the ballot). - 3 votes

If the Crown Lands does change to a new park, which would you prefer?

Rocky Mountain Lake Park - 0 votes
Berkeley Park - 10 votes
Find something else - 1 vote
Abstain (requested as an option, despite not being on the ballot) - 1 vote

In either case, there appears to be strong approval of both moving parks, and of Berkeley Park as our intended destination.
